MS Dhoni's captaincy has impressed Arjuna Ranatunga, who feels India are the favourites to win the Asia Cup.

"India have a lot of young and talented players including its one-day captain MS Dhoni," Ranatunga was quoted as saying by the media in Mumbai.

"Dhoni has crossed my imagination, he has done extremely well," he added.

Sri Lanka's only World Cup winning captain Ranatunga cautioned that the Asia Cup would be well fought out and lifting the trophy would not be walk in the park for Dhoni's men.

"The forthcoming Asia Cup would be a tough tournament as all the three main contestants India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan are well poised," Ranatunga said.

Considered one of the shrewdest captains that ever graced the game, Ranatunga said he has not really been enchanted by the fast and furious Twenty 20.

"Personally I do not like the smaller version of the game, it is always good to see the skill of the ball and the bat in a Test match or in one-day games."
