Shane Warne has admitted that he used to have late night drinking binges to battle his personal problems during the 2005 Ashes.

Warne's marriage with Simone was breaking up at that time, and he found himself in a lewd text message scandal and was alleged to having affairs with several women.

He said he would awake till 3 am in the morning sipping away drink after drink trying to forget the personal issues after returning from the cricket field.

"At night I'd lay there and go s***, when am I going to see my kids? There were times I'd sit there and drink my mini-bar until three in the morning, just to get to sleep. Set the alarm, wake up and say 'here we go again,'" he told 'The Daily Telegraph'.

"I cried a fair bit when I was by myself. 'what are you doing? What have you done?'" he would say to himself.
