Memory Lane

The Airtel CL T20 gave us some abiding memories last year. As the second edition of the mega event draws closer, ESPNSTAR.com takes a walk down memory lane to see what the players, the stars and defending champions New South Wales skipper Simon Katich told the website in the course of exclusive chats last year.

ESPNSTAR.com correspondent Rajarshi Gupta was at the team hotel in Hyderabad to welcome the teams as the champion Blues and runners-up Trinidad &Tobago retuned from the final.

Rajarshi managed to corner Katich and off-spinner Nathan Hauritz, who had struck a crucial blow by removing the dangerous Kieron Pollard. The players, overjoyed with their win, were very forthcoming with their answers.

The cheerleaders no doubt added to the glamour and our man on the spot even caught up with two of them for coffee the morning after. Clever move. Waiting for a flight back to New Delhi, the girls were at their candid best and gave us some memorable quotes.

ESPNSTAR.com brings to you some of the most enduring interviews and chats from the 2009 edition. Read on and re-live the moments.
