Titans battle for Morkel
South African Albie Morkel finds himself at the centre of a tussle over his services for the ICC Champions League T20.
Morkel is waiting to hear if he can play for South African franchise the Nashua Titans or if he will have to play for Indian Premier League side the Chennai Super Kings.
"This uncertainty is frustrating," he told Beeld.
Gerald Majola, the Cricket South Africa chief executive, believes Morkel will have to play for Chennai.
"Players contracted to teams of the Indian Premier League have to play for them," said Majola.
The Titans, however, say they released Morkel on the understanding that they will have first call on his services.
Titans chief executive Elise Lombard said: "We are in the process of negotiating and discussions still have to be held."
Morkel is in a quandary, but his preferred option would be to represent the Titans.
"I would like to play for the Titans, but don't want to fall out of favour with Chennai either," he added. "It's difficult and you don't know what to do."
Morkel's brother Morne is in a similar position. He is contracted to IPL Champions Rajasthan Royals and the Titans.
