WA Warriors - key players
espnstar.com highlights the three key players for the Victorian Bushrangers who could be the key to their title hopes.
Western Australian Warriors
Western Australian Warriors will be taking on the Sialkot Stallions in their opening group B match.
These are the dynamites to watch out for in this explosive Twenty20 format of the game.
Shaun Marsh
Shaun Marsh will be the key platform for good starts to the Western Australian innings. Shaun who is the son of Geoff Marsh also proved his worth for the Kings XI Punjab in the IPL and will want to recreate his performances in Champions League.
Marsh accumulates runs at a fast pace and scored the most runs by any batsmen in the league stages of the IPL. Having just played 23 Twenty20 matches and already having scored 1 hundred and 8 fifties in this format, bowlers need to get Marsh out early or this boy will make teams pay. Marsh is integral to the success of the Western Australian Warriors.
Luke Ronchi
Luke Ronchi is another quick run-getter in the team which will suit the twent20 format perfectly. He broke the record for the fastest domestic one-day hundred in Australian cricket. Ronchi scored his maiden one-day ton off only 56 deliveries If Ronchi clicks we could see a batting display of fireworks.
More importantly with a growth of wicket-keepers waiting in the wings for Adam Gilchrist's retirement, Ronchi has taken the No.2 spot behind Brad Haddiin. He will be one of the keepers to watch out for in the tournament as Western Australia will need him perform with both bat and gloves. Ronchi has a great strike rate of just over 120 from the twenty odd matches he's played.
Adam Voges
Adam Voges will be an integral all-rounder for the Western Australian side. His aggressive batting will be a key component to the side. Voges set the record for the fastest domestic one-day century, bringing up his 100 off only 62 balls with seven sixes to that tally. He is a tall striking middle order batsmen and has six half centuries from 30 Twenty20 matches with a strike rate of and just over 130, he'll will be looking to add to that tally.
Voges will play a key role with the ball as well with his slow left-arm orthodox bowling. He's picked up 10 wickets in this format of the game and is said to trouble batsman with his bowling.
Western Australia will be relying on these three players to not just take them past the early stages but further into the semis or finals.
