Symonds heads to India for CL T20

Troubled Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds will leave for India next week to compete in the Airtel Champions League.

Symonds is without any match practice since being thrown out of the national team for alcohol-related indiscretions in June.

According to a report in 'The Daily Telegraph', Symonds will train in Brisbane for a while before heading for India to play for the reigning Indian Premier League champions Deccan Chargers.

Symonds is currently nursing a quadricep strain, which has prevented him from competing in any of the domestic matches.

The mercurial big-hitter, who was sent home from the Twenty20 World Cup in England after breaking team rules to go out drinking, was subsequently stripped of his central contract by Cricket Australia.
