England's Somerset take on Trinidad and Tobago in their second group A game of the Airtel Champions League Twenty20.

Justin Langer's men scraped past Deccan Chargers by one wicket two days ago after recovering from a rather precarious 99 for seven and the win over the reigning Indian Premier League champions would do a world of good to their confidence today.

But the English Twenty20 Championship runner-ups did not look quite convincing last night even though they managed to cross the line after witnessing some torrid moments.

Somerset simply struggled for partnerships against the Chargers and none of their top and middle order batsmen looked like taking the responsibility and staying till the end to see the side through.

In fact, Somerset could consider themselves lucky to escape with a win, which they owe to the unbeaten 17-ball 30 by their number nine batsman Alfonso Thomas.

Langer, who attributed their last win to team spirit, would hope for a better batting show from the batsmen against the lone West Indian outfit in the cash-awash competition.

For Trinidad and Tobago, who earned a place in the Airtel Champions League Twenty 20 after beating England's national team in the USD 20 million winner-takes-all Stanford Twenty20 big bash, the goal would be to get off to a winning start.

Led by Daren Ganga, the Caribbeans have not yet played in the Champions League but boast of a fairly strong line-up that includes hard-hitting all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.

Dwayne's half-brother Darren and Lendl Simmons are also considered good prospects with the bat.

On the bowling front, neither of the two teams have any big names to boast of. Somerset bowlers were hammered by Deccan openers before they got their act together, backed by some good fielding.

Trinidad's batting all-rounders gives them a slight edge and team spirit alone would not be enough for Somerset when the two teams clash today.
