Ganga praises 'brilliant' Pollard
Skipper Daren Ganga lauded a "brilliant" match-winning half-century from Kieron Pollard as T&T beat New South Wales.
The Caribbean nation had looked set to suffer their first defeat of the tournament when they had stuttered to 118 for six in reply to the Blues' imposing 170 for four.
With the match slipping away Pollard stepped into the role of match-winner in some style as he plundered an unbeaten 54 from just 18 balls and secure an unlikely win with nine deliveries to spare.
Pollard's pyrotechnics, he hit five fours and five sixes, meant unfancied T&T maintained their unbeaten record in the competition and, with four points from their two games in the second round, are almost assured a place in the last-four.

"I strongly believe we have the talent and the ability to accomplish anything," Ganga said.
"It was a great effort to restrict NSW to 170 and we always had the belief, once we set things up, that we have the right players to come in and win this game.
"As for Kieron, he was brilliant and it's the sort of innings we expected off him.
"He came good today, but I can tell you he's not the only one who is looking to come good.
"There are a lot of guys who are hungry to perform for this team."
Simon Katich's NSW had powered to a formidable 170 for four thanks to swashbuckling half-centuries from openers Phil Hughes (83) and David Warner (63).
The two put on 121 for the opening wicket to give their team a flying start, but Ganga said his side never felt under pressure.
"We were happy with 170 and we set ourselves goals as a batting unit that is the sort of totals we look forward to scoring," he said.
"So were not under any sort of pressure, we know we have the players to go there and achieve things.
"There is a lot of room for improvement, we have to grow in time and we are feeling that spirit and hopefully we can continue making that climb."

Pollard, who brought up the win with back-to-back sixes off Moises Henriques, said he had simply backed himself to deliver.
"I came in at a crucial position, with the team in trouble and in need of someone to dig us out," he said.
"I'm delighted that I was able to do deliver for the team. I just backed myself to do whatever the team needed at that point in time and it came off tonight.
"But I guess the whole team played their hearts out, the bowlers didn't quite come good, but we knew the batsmen needed to click at some point and we did well.
"I guess the team is very happy and we can now sit back and watch a couple of games to come and hopefully go through to the semi-finals."
