Zaheer Khan is keen to return to action in the ACLT20 in South Africa.

The India seamer, who missed out of the Test series in Sri Lanka and the Tri-Series said he had recuperated from his shoulder injury and was happy with the "progress" he had made so far. Little doubt then that Zaheer is targetting to play for the Mumbai Indians in the high-profile T20 event.

"It's coming along well. I am presently targetting a workload of eight to ten overs and am happy with the progress. Hopefully, I'll be fit in time for the ACLT20."

Zaheer felt the wickets in South Africa will help seamers at the start of the season.

"It will be good as the wickets in South Africa will be fresh since it is the start of the cricketing season there. The tracks will aid pace bowling and I am sure all the bowlers will look to pitch it right," he said.

"We couldn't get it going in the first two seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but in IPL-3 we were simply on a roll. We kept winning and realized that winning is a habit. We enjoyed that feeling. We somehow missed it in the final.

"It is the first time that we are in the ACLT20 and it'll be a new experience. We'll aim for the last four spot."

The left arm-seamer sounded confident of his team's prospects, what with two locals in the side, who are well aware of South African conditions.

"We have two South Africans in JP Duminy and Ryan McLaren and we expect them to excel in their home conditions. We also have West Indian Kieron Pollard and he should do well. I expect the Indian youngsters to do well too. The young players with the experienced ones formed a great unit for Mumbai Indians and with Sachin Tendulkar managing the resources, it is always a joy for us to be out there," Zaheer said.
