Super Series boost for KP's boys

England's triumphant NatWest Series players have been rewarded with a shot at the £10million Stanford bonanza.

The unchanged XI which defeated South Africa 4-0 plus original squad members Alastair Cook, Ravi Bopara, Graeme Swann and Ryan Sidebottom will travel to Antigua for the November 1 contest against a Stanford All Stars side.

Winning players in the contest earn £500,000 while squad members also take a cut of the purse.

The same 15 will also take on India in seven one-day internationals, starting in mid-November.

"The selectors would like to congratulate the team on an outstanding performance in beating such a talented one-day side as South Africa so comprehensively," said national selector Geoff Miller.

"It bodes extremely well for the tough challenges that lie ahead this winter and is reflected in our decision to retain the bulk of the squad from this summer's NatWest Series for both the Stanford Super Series and the tour of India."

Nottinghamshire fast bowler Ryan Sidebottom, England's reigning player of the year, has been named subject to fitness.

Sidebottom, 30, finished the summer plagued by back, hip and groin complaints and was replaced in the one-day party by Yorkshire's Tim Bresnan.
