ECB team inspect Motera stadium

The ECB sent a two-member team to inspect the security in the Motera stadium ahead of England’s tour to India.

ECB director of cricket operations, John Carr and security manager Reg Dikason, today visited the Sardar Patel Motera stadium here to have a close look at the facilities and security arrangements at the venue which will host the first Test between India and England from December 11-15.

England cricket team will be touring India in November-December where it is scheduled to play six One-day matches and three Tests.

Carr and Dikason visited the stadium here along with officials of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) and inspected all the facilites available at the venue.

They inspected the players room, net practice area, swimming pool area, transport facility for players and various other arrangements at the stadium.

The ECB officials also discussed issues concerning the security of players with GCA members and expressed satisfaction over security arrangements and other facilities.

England team had last played a Test at Sardar Patel stadium in December, 2001, under the captainship of Nasir Hussain. The match had ended in a draw.
