Sarwan played a crucial role with Shivnarine Chanderpaul to send England packing from the ICC World Twenty20 in a rain-curtailed Super Eights encounter.
Q: Are you surprised that West Indies reached the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup?
RS: Actually, our critics are surprised. We are happy that we reached the semi-finals of the ICC World Twenty20.
Q: You were in a tough group, yet you succeeded in reaching the last four.
RS: The critics did not expect us to qualify even for the Super Eights stages. They thought we would bow out of the tournament after the first round. We just concentrated on our own game.
Q: Did you expect that you would beat Australia in the early stages of the tournament?
RS: We kept ourselves busy in polishing our skills. We believed that on our day we can beat any other team.

Q: You have coming very late in the batting order.
RS: That is the plan. If the top order collapses, Shivnarine Chandrapaul would have the responsibility of carrying the team forward, which you can call a kind of a balancing factor so that scoreboard would always move.
Q: It happened in the match against England which was a rain-curtailed one.
RS: Exactly, we were 16 for three once. From that position, we recovered ,which was very, very challenging and demanding. But me and Chandrapaul steadied the innings according to plan.
Q: We saw you talking together many times in the middle. What did you discuss?
RS: The situation was very crucial. We lost five wickets for 45. Hence, we decided that we must not panic. That is why there were no big hits. But we concentrated on clean hits. That's what we kept telling each other.
Q: Were you very confident then?
RS: We were confident when we started building the innings. We decided to put away the bad balls. We knew if we could do that, we would have a good chance.
Q: Now, what about the finals?
RS: At the moment we do not know what is in store for us. We really enjoyed beating England in a curtailed match. One thing that I can tell you is that our camp is bubbling with confidence. Anything can happen. Please do not write us off.
