Mishra set for Emerging Players
SportsCenter’s Swarup Kar catches up with Amit Mishra as the bowler is set to play in Emerging Players Tournament in Australia.
As Indian squad is all set to leave for Australia on Friday, Mishra is all confident about his performance in the coming tournament."It is good to see selectors putting faith in me. They have selected me for they believe that I could be a key player in the tournament," Mishra said.
"And that is what I aim to do. This tournament is really important for me and I wish I perform well over there."
And, Mishra is focusing on his bowling to come good in the event.
"My aim will be to bowl in the right areas and get as many wickets as I can. All my focus is on bowling," he said. "I am practicing hard in order to be able to take more and more wickets and do my best over there."
On not being able to find a regular spot in the national side despite having taken 20 wickets in just five Test matches, which are really good figures by any standard, Mishra said, "I working hard on improving my batting to increase my chances. If I come to bat at No.7 or 8 and score 30-40 runs or help my senior partner in building up the partnership that will keep me in good stead."
He also spoke on his prospects of meeting spin legend Shane Warne in Australia during the tournament.
"He is really a legendary bowler. If he will be there, I will definitely like to talk to him and also learn some bowling tricks from him," he said.
