Clark keen to play Oz mates

Clark keen to play Oz mates

espnstar.com's Ayanjit Sen caught up with New South Wales Blues pacer Stuart Clark for an exclusive chat.

Clark is one of the most accurate seamers in the trade these days. Come October 8, he alongwith his NSW teammates will brace up for a sensational fest in the Airtel Champions League Twenty20.

Q: You are regarded as one of the most accurate bowlers in the world. Does that tag add more pressure when you are bowling in a format like Twenty20, where batsmen have the license to go hell for leather?

SC: No, you need to somehow block the outside pressure out of your thoughts and go about doing what you are good at. The game lends itself to some days you will do well and some days you won’t.

Q: What is your take on the CL T20? Will it be benefit domestic players when they rub shoulders with the best in the business from across the world?

SC: Playing against the best in the business will always help younger players coming through. They need to try and enjoy the atmosphere and absorb as mush as possible during the tournament.

Q:
You will be up against some of your Aussie team-mates (from Victoria Bushrangers and Gilchrist from Deccan Chargers) in a truly international and global set-up. That must be something exciting and new.

SC: It is always good playing against your team mates and former team mates. If you can get one up on them you will have bragging rights next time you see them.

Q:
Which is the one team you and your mates in NSW will be most wary of?

SC: Any of the Indian teams will be hard work as they are experienced in Indian conditions.

Q: The CL T20 has garnered a lot of support in India. Is it the same in Australia, where Twenty20 cricket is so popular?

SC: It is popular in Australia but not to the same extent as India. Test cricket and one day cricket still hold the power in Australia.
