"I was stupid, not gutsy"
espnstar.com’s Rajarshi Gupta spoke exclusively to NSW Blues off-spinner Nathan Hauritz after his team lifted the Airtel CL T20.
That one moment changed the context of the game.
Explosive Trinidad and Tobago batsman Kieron Pollard had smoked Hauritz for a huge six before the offie tossed the next one up and Brett Lee took a brilliant catch at long-off. Pollard departed and the writing was on the wall for the red brigade.
While New South Wales skipper Simon Katich termed that wicket taking delivery as ‘the gutsiest delivery ever bowled on a cricket field', Hauritz thought it was just stupidity which paid off well.

"I think it was more stupidity than guts. Pollard had hit that one at least 150 metres away and I had to toss up the next one to see what he does.
Lee took a smart catch near the ropes and I was lucky at the end to get that wicket."
Hauritz, who will now turn up for the Australian team for a seven match ODI series against India said he was nervous after being hit for that massive six.
"I was nervous right through T&T's chase. They have some very good batsmen, who were in great form through the tournament but our guys rallied wonderfully to work out the win."
The 28 year old, who celebrated his birthday five days ago, bowled two overs for as many as 23 runs but picked up - besides Pollard- Sherwin Ganga, who looked set as well.
In fact, the Trinidad and Tobago looked like making a serious charge towards victory with Pollard and Sherwin at the crease.
It was only the double strike by Hauritz that dented all Caribbean hopes last night.
Ritzy, as he is fondly called by his team mates, said the Airtel CL T20 has a great future in the years to come.
"The event was very well organised and brilliantly run. The teams were well looked after and I think this is an exciting format."
The stadium was packed to the rafters on Friday night as two of the best teams in the Airtel CL T20 battled hard for glory. The Blues were simply better and Hauritz could not hide his emotions.
"It feels great to be the best domestic T20 side in the world. The teams in the tourney were terrific and played some hard cricket. That makes the victory even more special."
The last two weeks undoubtedly tested both sides but eventually, it was the Aussie grit that saw the Blues home.
