- South Africa have won their last 17 matches in a row against Zimbabwe.
- Hashim Amla's first fifty (80 off 96 balls) against Zimbabwe is his fourth in ODIs.
- Graeme Smith has completed his 500 runs against Zimbabwe - 506 at an average of 56.22, including one century and five fifties in nine matches.
- Abraham de Villiers has taken his runs tally to 612 (ave.61.20), including six fifties, in 13 matches in 2009 - the highest by a South African this year.
- De Villiers' 51 off 51 balls is his 20th fifty in ODIs - his second against Zimbabwe.
- Albie Morkel (50 not out off 39 balls) has registered his second fifty in ODIs - his career-best being 97 against Zimbabwe at Harare on August 26, 2007. Both his fifties have been recorded by him against Zimbabwe.
- Ray Price (3/44) has registered his best bowling performance against South Africa - his career-best being 4 for 22 against Bangladesh at Dhaka (SBNS) on January 19, 2009.
- Tatenda Taibu (103 not out) has registered his second century in ODIs - his career-best being 107 not out against South Africa at Harare on August 26, 2007
- Taibu has been adjudged the Man of the Match for the second time in ODIs.
- Stuart Matsikenyeri (86 off 87 balls) has recorded his highest score against South Africa. Stuart's second fifty against South Africa is his 13th in ODIs.
- Matsikenyeri has added 188 runs with Taibu for the sixth wicket - Zimbabwe's best for any wicket against South Africa. The said stand is the second best for the sixth wicket in ODIs, next only to the 218 between Mahela Jayawardene and Mahendra Singh Dhoni for Asia XI vs. Africa XI at Chennai on June 10, 2007.
- The stand is now the highest for any wicket by either side in South Africa-Zimbabwe ODIs.
- The above partnership is now the second best for Zimbabwe in ODIs - the best being 202 between Stuart Carlisle and Ervine for the fourth wicket against India at Adelaide in 2003-04.
