- England's triumph by seven wickets is their biggest at Centurion - their 250th ODI win.
 
- Both South Africa and England have won two games each at Centurion against each other.
 
- England have won 250 and lost 250 out of 523 played - NR 18 and Tied games 5.   
 
- Paul Collingwood's fifth ODI century (105 not out off 110 balls) is his first against South Africa.  He has recorded one century each against Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

- Collingwood is the second Englishman to post a hundred at Centurion, the first being Kevin Pietersen - 116 against South Africa on February 13,2005.
 
- Collingwood's first Man of the Match award against South Africa is his 14th in ODIs, equalling an English rcord held by Andrew Flintoff.
 
- Collingwood is the only English all-rounder to make a hundred and claim two wickets or more in the same match three times and the first to perform the feat against South Africa.
 
- Just for the record, Collingwood is the only all-rounder in the history of ODIs to post a century and bag six wickets in the same match - 112 not out and 6 for 31 against Bangladesh at Nottingham on June 21, 2005.
 
- Collingwood is the third all-rounder to register a hundred and capture two wickets in the same match against South Africa - the first two being Carl Hooper (West Indies) - 108 & 2 for 50 at East London on January 24, 1999 and Chris Cairns (New Zealand) - 102 and 2 for 44 at Brisbane on January 19, 2002.       
 
- Alviro Petersen (64 off 65 balls) has recorded his second highest ODI score - his highest being 80 against Zimbabwe at Potchefstroom on September 20, 2006.
 
- Petersen is averaging 40.00 in ODIs - 240 in six innings at a strike rate of 91.25.
 
- Petersen's previous highest at Centurion was 13 off 18 balls against Zimbabwe on November 10, 2009.
 
- Paul Collingwood (2/24) has taken his tally of wickets to 99 (ave.38.04) in 171 matches.
 
- Collingwood's figures are his best against South Africa apart from the best ever in South Africa.
 
- Collingwood has played in his 171st ODI - the most for England, bettering Alec Stewart's tally of 170 games.
 
- Collingwood's previous highest against South Africa was 82 off 94 balls on September 27, 2009.

- Hashim Amla enjoys an outstanding record in ODIs - 751 runs at an average of 46.93 in 19 innings, including one hundred and five fifties.
 
- Amla's 57 off 72 balls is his highest innings against England, surpassing the 46 at The Oval on August 29, 2008.
 
- Kevin Pietersen is averaging just 16.80 in the calendar year 2009 - his worst since debut.  In 2004, he had averaged 104.00; 65.33 in 2005; 43.71 in 2006; 42.33 in 2007 and 43.86 in 2008.
 
- Under Andrew Strauss' captaincy, Pietersen is averaging only 27.42 - 384 in 16 matches, with just two fifties.
 
- Andres Strauss is without a fifty in his last eight innings.  His sequence includes two ducks - one each against Australia and New Zealand.
 
- James Anderson (3/60) has taken his tally of wickets to 29 (ave.25.00) in 17 matches this year - the most for England in 2009.

- Trott and Collingwood put on 162 for the third wicket - the second best at Centurion for this wicket-position - the highest being 163 between Collingwood and Owais Shah for England against South Africa in the ICC Champions Trophy on September 27, 2009.
