- Dilshan's aforesaid performance is his best in a bilateral series/competition in ODIs, outstripping the 277 (ave.30.77) in eleven games in the 2005-06 VB series in Australia.
- Dilshan became the first batsman to complete 2,500 runs in international cricket in 2009 - 2,539 at an average of 57.70, including ten hundreds and eight fifties in 40 matches.
