Fans give security a difficult time

As India and Pakistan fought it out on field, the cricket fans from both the countries took the battle off it as well.

The fans gave the security staff a torrid time during the high-voltage Champions Trophy clash.

Long before Pakistan won the clash against India at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Sunday night, fans made sure that security staff had their hands full.

The situation began getting out of hand as the match progressed and the security staff had to intervene on several occasions to control emotional fans who began engaging in fisticuffs.

The stadium staff adopted a zero tolerance approach to all potential trouble-makers, acting swiftly to remove anyone disturbing the enjoyment of other fans.

As the match ended, despite repeated warnings and many security guards on the periphery, Pakistani fans invaded the field with their flags in a show of ecstasy.

They were quickly chased off and some were even brought down with rugby-style tackles as they refused to leave the field.

In show of unity though, all fans joined in as popular Bollywood songs accompanied milestones throughout the match on the public address system.
