Pakistan team officials feel vice-captain Misbah-ul Haq will recover in time for next month's ICC World Twenty20.

Misbah is suffering from a groin injury injury, which has forced him to miss all three matches of his regional team Faisalabad Wolves in the ongoing National T20 championship in Lahore.

"It is not a serious groin injury it is just that the doctors have advised him to rest it rather then play matches," a team official said.

The 34-year old made a resounding comeback to the Pakistan team in the inaugural ICC World T20 in South Africa two years ago and since then has cemented his place in the side as a reliable late order batsman.

"Misbah is in Lahore to play the T20 event but because we have the World Cup ahead of us it was decided it was prudent he rested his groin injury properly.

"His injury has got better to the extent that the doctors have now allowed him to start practicing in the nets," the official said.
