Stitches for David Dwyer

Stitches for David Dwyer

Pakistan's fitness trainer David Dwyer needed four stitches above his left eye last after being hit by the ball during a fielding drill.

Australian Dwyer was injured as Pakistan prepared for their ICC World Twenty20 warm-up match against South Africa at Trent Bridge.

A wayward throw from opening batsman Salman Butt was the culprit.

"I stuck the baseball mitt out to protect the coach," said Dwyer.

"But it flicked the edge of the glove and glanced just off the side of my eye.

"I feel fine now. I must have just lost (sight of) the ball in the seats."
