Fans Speak: The Australia factor
Our readers share their thoughts on how Australia's exit from ICC World T20 effects tournament's entertainment quotient.
West Indies and Sri Lanka produced superb displays to oust Australia from the ICC World Twenty20. And, as the event goes on without any loss of colour, the yellow jerseys are now focussing on Ashes.
Our readers on espnstar.com had their say on whether something went amiss with Australia dumping. Here are the best ones we received:
Saran Ravindranath: It is not really dissapointing. We need entertainment and Australia are failing to provide it. Teams like India, South africa and Sri Lanka have proved that they can play better than Aussies, and guess what, no Sledging!
Praveen Balusu: It's been a decade of complete dominance by the Aussies. The Aussies are no more the old force. Now, a typical breath taking match would be India vs South Africa.
Tameem Ahmed: There is no fun in watching the tournament without Australia. I am backing South Africa now.

Praveen Singh: It's good to watch Aussies are out of the tournament. They hadn't selected a team for T20.
Bala Chandra: Even if Australia had made it to Super Eights, they might not have performed well. They are not suitable for T20 format when compared to other ODIs and Test. It's time for them to get ready for Ashes.
Dr Peter Nguyen: I wasn't surprised at all to see the Aussies being swept out of the contest. With good teams like South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and West Indies in the fray, this will still be a spectacular event.
Syed Zafar Rizwan: Symonds exclusion made a little difference, but still the squad was very strong. After two editions of ICC World T20, it is evident that Australia can not dominate T20 as they did in Tests and ODIs.

Our take at espnstar.com: Though it can't be argued that Australia do not look the same fearsome group they once did, but there is no denying the fact that the reigning 50-50 champions add that extra zing to any competition.
With it still reigning sixes and fours on the grounds, there's no missing Australia as they hardly looked to be adding more to them. Especially, after big-hitter Andrew Symonds was sent packing back to home.
While, many teams seem to be better equipped for the shortest version of the game, it's only a matter of time that Australia get their resources in order to claim their supremacy in T20 as well. The early exit from the ICC World T20 will only make them sweat it out all the more to become a powerhouse once again.
Our current debate: With crucial players like Chris Gayle, Virender Sehwag, Daniel Vettori and Kevin Pietersen nursing injuries, is the slam-bang version of cricket starting to take its toll on the players? You know where to write in with your thoughts. Write in to us at: fanspeak@espnstar.co.in
