CSA stands by Smith & Co.
CSA officials take solace from the fact that their side notched up a record of seven wins in a row in the ICC World T20.
Although disappointed at the exit of the team, Cricket South Africa (CSA) CEO Gerald Majola chose to stand by his side, which choked yet again at a crucial juncture of an international event, losing the semi-final against Pakistan on Thursday.
"It is most disappointing that South Africa were knocked out of the ICC World Twenty-20 at the semi-final stage but this is not the end of the world," Majola said in a statement.

"We must remember that the Proteas have set a world record of seven consecutive T20 international victories. They are also No. 1 in the world in the 50-over cricket, and they have just completed their best-ever season in Test cricket," he added.
Majola also did not forget to praise the Pakistan side, which, defying all the odds, is playing amazingly.

"All plaudits must go to Pakistan cricket in reaching the final, having pulled itself off the floor after the traumatic political events that have struck their country so hard in recent times. We wish them all the luck in the future." Majola said.
The Proteas would be honoured at a star-studded gala dinner in Johannesburg on June 30 as CSA celebrates its most successful year ever.
