ICC World Twenty20 Teams

England had a disastrous campaign in South Africa in 2007 after starting off with a predictable win against Zimbabwe.
However, Australia smashed England in their next match, exposing the weakness in spite of a wealth of T20 experience.
Though the team managed to reach the Super Eight stage, they were bullied by South Africa, New Zealand and India, where they were mesmerised by Yuvraj Singh, who took a special liking for Stuart Broad, smoking him over the ropes six times in an over in Durban.
All-rounder Paul Collingwood would lead the challenge for the hosts this year with a crack unit.
Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff and Ravi Bopara can get into any World XI in the Twenty20 format.
James Anderson, Broad and Swann would strengthen the bowling department while all-rounders like Dimitri Mascerenhas and Owais Shah would be invaluable in familiar conditions in the shortest format of the game.
Much would be expected of the hosts, who have amazed their own country men with inconsistency despite a good group of players.
This England team is far better than registering a solitary win against one of the lowly ranked teams and would be one of the favourites to wrest the title from India's grasp.
If all their key players, especially KP and Freddie find form and stick to a purple patch throughout, the Barmy Army would party, one that could be hard to stop.
