Trent Bridge

ICC World Twenty20 Venues

Profile:

Trent Bridge is the home of the Nottingham County Cricket Club and is situated on the banks of the river Trent.

It had been a shared home ground for both Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and Notts County Football Club until the cricket and football seasons overlapped, compelling the football club to move a couple of yards away to Meadow Lane.

The ground, which staged its first Test match way back in 1899, is a mixture of old rustic charm and modern amenities.  With a capacity of just over 15,000, it is one of the smaller grounds in England.

The ground has been home to some of the world’s best cricketers including Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Richard Hadlee and Clive Rice, who played county cricket here

India registered a famous win at this venue in 2007, which helped them record a Test series win on English soil for the first time since 1986.

Over the years the ground has undergone massive redevelopment. The office block that is as much a part of Trent Bridge as the pavilion, was built after a corner of the ground was sold off to raise finances. More recently the Radcliffe Road and Fox Road stands have also been refurbished. The ground's stylish architecture has made Trent Bridge one of the best viewing grounds in England.
