No issues with Morgan-ICL meet: BCCI
The BCCI Saturday said it had no issues with the upcoming meeting between ICC chief David Morgan and ICL owner Subhash Chandra.
"There's nothing wrong in that meeting. Mr Morgan will give details of what was discussed at his meeting with Mr Subash Chandra at the ICC meeting scheduled on October 14 and 15 in Dubai," said BCCI president Shashank Manohar just hours after taking over the reins from Sharad Pawar in Mumbai.
Manohar also dismissed reports of the Sri Lankan board allowing its ICL-aligned players to play in the island nation's domestic cricket by saying it was an internal matter.
"It's an internal matter of Sri Lanka Cricket and we have nothing do do with it," he replied curtly to a query on the subject in his first media conference after becoming the BCCI chief.
Manohar also dismissed as "his private opinion" BCCI CAO Ratnakar Shetty's statement to a TV channel that the Rajasthan Cricket Association was going out od its way to oblige Australian cricketers by extending top-class training facilities to the visitors.
Yesterday Pawar too set aside notions in the wake of Shetty's criticism that the BCCI was not happy with the top-class training facilities afforded to the Australians at Jaipur. "The BCCI is not unhappy. They are our guests and as per our Indian tradition we extend our hospitality to the visiting guests," he said on the raging debate.
Earlier, RCA chief and BCCI Vice-President Lalit Modi too defended the decision by saying it was not wrong at all.
"I don't see anything wrong in it. This is a unique year in that Australia had time on their hand with the cancellation of the Champions Trophy. They wanted to get acclimatised to our conditions and wickets and approached me (as RCA President) and I saw no reason to deny them." Modi had said at a media conference two days ago.
