The Deodhar Trophy inter-zonal one-day tournament will not be held this season because of a cramped cricketing calendar.

The introduction of a number of new tournaments such as the Indian Premier League and Champions League has forced the BCCI to do away with the tournament this season.

The all-powerful Working Committee, which met on Thrusday, deliberated on squeezing in the Deodhar Trophy Inter-Zonal One-day tournament and the T20 Super League for the Mushtaq Ali Trophy into an already crowded programme but could not find a slot, a top BCCI source said on Thursday.

The Tours Programmes and Fixtures Committee had left this decision to the Working Committee while formalising the domestic schedule at its previous meeting in Mumbai.
