Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) appointed Parimal Nathwani as its Vice President on Wednesday.

Nathwani, a senior President (Corporate Affairs) with Reliance Industries, is also an independent Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi is the President of GCA.

"GCA has nominated me as vice president today. I will work to promote cricket as a game and improve cricket infrastructure in the state," Nathwani told PTI after his appointment was declared in a special general meeting.

Meanwhile, GCA has also appointed Kantibhai Desai from Valsad as another Vice President and Bharat Dudhia and Ashok Saheba as Joint Secretaries.

Now, GCA will have three Vice Presidents, including Minister of State for Home Amit Shah, Parimal Nathvani and Kantibhai Desai.
