HCA allows spectators to watch final

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) decided to allow general public to witness the Duleep Trophy final.

The match between South Zone and West Zone is currently underway at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket stadium in Hyderabad.

Spectators were not allowed to witness the match on February 2 and 3 due to civil works going on in the stadium, HCA said in a release.

Media reports, however, said that entry for common people was barred fearing disruption from the Telangana supporters.

Spectators can witness the match from Thursday only through gate number four of the stadium, HCA Joint Secretary D S Chalapati said in the release.

Telangana supporters, entered the ground and raised slogans, forcing abandonment of a Twenty20 match last month.

Subsequently, the IPL shifted the opening match of IPL-III from Hyderabad to Mumbai.

The all-party Telangana JAC, however, assured its support to hold the tournament smoothly.
