Broad is now regarded as one of the most lethal bowlers in the world, with his ability to swing it across at good pace. He is also a sharp thinker of the game and his consistent spells with bat and ball have convinced the England Cricket Board to appoint Broad as captain of the T20 side at the expense of Paul Collingwood.
