
Cairns suspended by ICL side - Reports
Former New Zealand all-rounder Chris Cairns has been suspended by his Indian Cricket League Twenty20 team, according to reports.
The ICL executive board has reportedly suspended Chandigargh Lions pair Cairns and Dinesh Mongia for disciplinary reasons, while South African all-rounder Andrew Hall will replace Cairns as captain of the side.
Executive board member Kiran More, a former India wicket-keeper, told the Hindustan Times: "They have been suspended as there has been a breach of contract on their part."
Radio Sport in New Zealand reported Cairns had arrived for the current Twenty20 tournament with an ankle injury which he had not disclosed, a breach of his contract which says he needs to be fit when appearing.
Other New Zealanders playing in the ICL are Lou Vincent, Andre Adams, Shane Bond, Adam Parore, Chris Harris, Nathan Astle, Craig McMillan, Daryl Tuffey and Hamish Marshall.
