Silence my mantra now!

Sreesanth may miss IPL due to injury

S Sreesanth could be out of the second season of the IPL due to a back injury, reports SportsCenter's Dinesh Chopra.

According to sources, Sreesanth, who is presently training in Sydney with Kings XI Punjab coach Tom Moody, has been detected of L2 Stress fracture in his lower back.

This not only puts his participation in the second IPL season in doubt but can also delay his comeback to the Indian team. Sreesanth last played for India in a Test match against South Africa in Kanpur last April.

Though Sreesanth was declared fit by not one but two doctors on the panel of the Indian cricket board, the specialists tending to him in Sydney claim that he stress fracture is about a month old.

If that is true then Sreesanth was not only declared fit but also played first class games for his state side Kerala and zonal team, South Zone. Before he was declared fit, the fast bowler was undergoing treatment for side strain.

Sreesanth has played 14 Tests and 41 ODI's for India. Injuries and bad form have kept him out of the Indian side off late.

Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh were in the midst of the infamous slap-gate controversy during the Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab IPL match last year after which Harbhajan Singh was fined for the remaining duration of IPL.
