Bangalore aim to maintain momentum

The Bangalore Royal Challengers and the Chennai Super Kings are all set to put the stage on fire on Monday.

Though the Chennai team failed to come out in flying colours during the opening match of IPL II but they sure must be all prepared to rock the world of Royal Challengers in Port Elizabeth.

This is the first match which is taking place in this venue and so the conditions will be new for both the teams.

Last year's runner-ups, Chennai Kings, did turn out to be the losers in first match. They need to work on their batting and may require bringing in some changes in their line-up too.

Even the Bangalore Royal Challengers need to put up a strong batting line up.

Bangalore bowlers did a splendid job with Kumble in the match against Rajasthan Royals.

Chennai too is struggling with the bat but the bowling seems pretty dependable.

Today's match is expected to give the viewers some great cricketing moments to cherish like watching two England's greatest players - Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen play on different sides.

This match will also give us the flavour of Dale Steyn vs Matthew Hayden.

With the heat turning on, let's wait and watch for who will win when two identical teams cross paths.

Approaching Milestones

- Mahendra Singh Dhoni (450) needs 50 runs more to
become the first captain to aggregate 500 runs in
the IPL.

- Dhoni in that case would be the fourth to aggregate
500 runs in the IPL. The top three batsmen in terms
or run-aggregate in the IPL are: Shaun Marsh (616),
Gautam Gambhir (549) and Sanath Jayasuriya (540).

- Manpreet Gony (19) will have an opportunity to
equal/surpass Sohail Tanvir's tally of 22 to become
the leading wicket-taker in the IPL.

- In case of a victory, Chennai Super Kings XI (9) would
become the third team to register 10 victories or
more in the IPL. Rajasthan Royals have won 13,
followed by Kings XI Punjab 10.
