Manjrekar hails elegant Bopara

Former Indian cricketer, Sanjay Manjerekar, appearing in STAR Cricket's Money Talks, speaks on the week that was in the IPL.

Talking about Kings XI Punjab, the former middle order batsman said, "It is one of the most attractive teams for me to watch."

Manjerekar also heaped praise on England all-rounder and the latest hero for Kings XI, Ravi Bopara, saying the right-handed batsman has a great temperament and an Asian flavour in the way he bats despite the fact that he has grown up in England.

Talking about the clash between Shane Warne and Anil Kumble, he said, "T20 could be a great game for the senior players and their success at this stage of the tournament can be attributed to experience and skill levels that they have."

He said that these senior spin bowlers can do what younger inexperienced bowlers will find hard to do. " Both Kumble and Warne bowl in the middle stages where the asking rate goes up to eight or nine runs an over when batsmen are thinking sixes."

Discussing Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid, Manjerekar said he was happy to see the class of both these players coming through

" Everytime Rohit bats, you can see the class. Of all the young players I have seen, Rohit certainly stands out. He just looks better than the rest of the next generation batsmen."

"With Dravid it's about going there and making contributions for the team."

Referring to the upcoming match between Deccan Chargers and Chennai Super Kings, he said "Deccan Charger had a great collection of players last year as well but the results did not come through.

"This year around, things are changing which is great."
