Matthew Hayden is convinced that CSK captain MS Dhoni would lead the side's revival in the ongoing IPL.

The Chennai outfit, which finished runners-up, looked somewhat lacklustre this year, managing just one win in their five outings so far.

Dhoni himself has been a let down with the bat but Hayden still believes the India captain would get his mojo back and revive Chennai's campaign.

"I think he is an incredibly calm individual. He is looking forward to play well in the tournament," Hayden said.

"I think at this stage we are seeing the Chennai side come under a bit of pressure and this also gives an opportunity to see how characters lift themselves and perform well. And MS will play a big part in it," said the burly Australian.

Apart from Dhoni, Hayden said, Muttiah Muralitharan would also play a major role in changing Super Kings' fortune.

"I think he will play a key role," Hayden told the official IPL website.

"Murali is fantastic guy. He is a world class bowler and an asset for the side. And with spinners dominating in the tournament he has got to play a major role in our side's redemption from the losses. He has been working hard in the nets and hopefully will deliver the goods in the upcoming matches," he added.

Hayden was part of a star-studded Australian team that included Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath -- all of whom are turning up for different IPL teams. Hayden said he was looking forward to facing Warne, who leads Rajasthan Royals, in this year's IPL.

"It will be a lot of fun. Warnie is certainly a charismatic character. For me he is the kind of cricketer who epitomises what Twenty20 cricket represents," Hayden said.

"It is fast and furious and at the same time, it is skillful. Warnie has all the skills for all forms of game. He has dominated world cricket and his performance in IPL is not a surprise," he added.

Talking about the tournament as a whole, Hayden felt IPL had become a global event.

"It is incredible to see how the country has embraced IPL in South Africa. To have three weeks to prepare for the tournament and then put on a show like this is phenomenal.

"There will be people celebrating in London, watching it in New York or in down town in Auckland -- that's the power of television but also the power of the game. It is truly a global competition," he added.
