Manjrekar takes a look at teams in IPL

In Star Cricket’s Match-Up Zone, Sanjay Manjrekar spoke at length on the on going Indian Premier League in South Africa.

Talking about the IPL II, Manjrekar said, "There is tendency amongst the chasing teams in this IPL to keep wickets in hand, especially in South Africa."

He also mentioned the surprises that have sprung up as far as performances are concerned in this season. Halfway through the IPL, a lot of action has already happened.

Talking about one of the most exciting matches so far between Kolkata Knight riders and Rajasthan Royals, Manjrekar said, "First time we saw the "super over" being introduced. It's better than hitting the stumps. Moreover it has also opened up the debate whether a tie should be kept as a tie as both the teams have played well."

On the success of Anil Kumble as a skipper, he said, "Looking at his success in T20 who could imagine he has retired from Test cricket and didn't play limited over cricket for years before he retired from International cricket."

Talking further about Bangalore Royal Challengers, he said "Bopara is somebody they will miss in T20 cricket."

Meanwhile, he said that Mumbai Indians are a balanced side and a team with a good bowling attack.

Referring to Kings XI Punjab captain Yuvraj Singh, Manjrekar said, "He is never short of good advice."

About the upcoming clash between Tillakaratane Dilshan and JP Duminy in the match between Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians, he said, "Dilshan has been a surprise package and Duminy is doing extremely well. Last game Mumbai won against KKR was entirely because of Duminy. He appears to be a very natural cricketer."

Praising Lasith Malinga of Mumbai Indians, Manjrekar said it has been "a great comeback by somebody who had an injury."
