"Underdog tag can work for Chargers"
Cricket expert Harsha Bhogle in STAR Cricket’s “Money Talks” takes a look at the business side of the Deccan Chargers.
The Deccan Chargers team was bought for as much as 107 million USD.However, the Hyderabad team ended the first season of the IPL right at the bottom of the table despite boasting of some big guns in team.
"I think everyone really looked at it from how desperately they wanted to own a franchise," said Hiren Pandit, a former consultant with the team.
The experts also spoke of how Indian legend and local Hyderabad hero VVS Laxman opted out of being an icon player to allow his team to scout for more expensive stars.
Harsha felt the fact that the Chargers are not as talked about as the Mumbai Indians or Kolkata Knight Riders can work in favour of the team.
