McGrath denies quitting reports

Legendary Australian pacer Glenn McGrath has denied claims that he would not return to play for Delhi Daredevils in IPL3.

"I have read somewhere myself. But I don't remember saying anything like that," McGrath said.

McGrath had vented his frustration at not getting a chance to play in this year's IPL and hinted that he might not return for the third edition of the Twenty20 extravaganza in his syndicated column for a national daily.

"I am contracted for another year with Delhi, but that is a long way away. Right now, I would not bet on myself returning," McGrath had said.

Number of teams to increase

Meanwhile, IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi revealed that the number of teams in the competition would increase in the coming years, which probably means star players like McGrath will get to play more.

"There are not that many icon players and very few countries around 8-10 to pick from. If we increase the number of teams, then we will have to do so from the existing players around the world," said Modi.
