KKR coach discusses plans with Ganguly

Newly-appointed KKR coach Dav Whatmore met skipper Sourav Ganguly on the sidelines of Bengal's Ranji Trophy match against Baroda.

The World Cup winning Australian coach, who was appointed KKR coach for the Indian Premier League III, watched the match and later during the lunch break met Ganguly, who is back as captain of Shahrukh Khan-owned side.

The Australian is expected to begin his KKR stint with a training camp later this month.

Having finished last in a controversy-ridden season in IPL II this year, KKR had dumped their coach John Buchanan who had floated a "multi-captaincy" idea.

For the third edition, Whatmore has been appointed coach, while Pakistani legend Wasim Akram is the mentor of the side.

The Kolkata franchise also has Vijay Dahiya as assistant coach, Andrew Leipus physiotherapist and Adrian le Roux as team trainer.
