AP assures support to hold IPL-III
Andhra Pradesh government said it is ready to provide all necessary support for the conduct of IPL-III in Hyderabad.
"They need not have any apprehensions. We will provide all arrangements facilities to the players and organisers. They can organise the inauguration in Hyderabad", Sports Minister K Venkata Reddy told reporters.
The inaugural match and opening ceremony of IPL-III, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on March 12, was shifted to Mumbai due to ongoing Telangana agitation.
Telangana supporters had entered the ground and forced the cancellation of a T20 match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium last week.
Representatives of the Deccan Chargers, one of the IPL teams, had met leaders of TRS and all-party Joint Action Council spearheading Telangana movement seeking the cooperation to hold the tournament in Hyderabad.
Both TRS as well as JAC assured their support to the event in the city.
