Royals practice ahead of camp

Former Australian player Damien Martyn and five other players slogged in the nets ahead of Rajasthan Royals' preparatory camp.

The six-day camp for the third edition of the IPL will begin on Friday.

Martyn, Sidhartha Trivedi, Kamran Khan, Dinesh Salonkhe, Sumit Narwal and Sayed Kadri today practiced at RCA academy away from the prying media eyes due to security reasons.

The security officials initially did not let media see the practice but later allowed them watch practice from a distance.

Assistant Coach Monte Desai, Physio John Gloster and Manager Anil Patel were also there at the practice session but the scribes were not allowed to interact with any of them.

"I am from the private security agency for Rajasthan Royals and I have the instructions not to allow media," said a security official.

The local police also provided a heavy security cover for the practice session.

"Skipper and Coach Shane Warne would be reaching Mumbai tomorrow and we expect him to be here by Saturday," said one source.

The team will play practice matches during the camp.

The inaugural edition champions will host three matches in the city-- on April 7 against KingsXI Punjab, on April 11 against Mumbai Indians and on April 14 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
