IPL hasn't captured Delhi yet
Cricket newest party still doesn't seem to have captured the attention of people in Delhi.
The National Capital, which had taken up the cause of Indian hockey during the recently-concluded World Cup, seems still not too involved with the jamboree.
One of the novelties of this edition of the tournament seemed to be the provision of showing the matches in multiplex cinema theatres, but as of now, there seem to be few people really interested in going to a movie hall to watch cricket.
According to the cinema owners, the Board exams for students of Standards X and XII may have something to do with it. Also, with the home side still not having played in the city, possibly the tempo has yet to pick up.
Even the ground situation was a little surprising. The Mumbai team including Sachin Tendulkar landed at the Ferozshah Kotla, which is in the heart of town, plumb in the middle of the rush hour, and there weren't 50 people around to greet the team bus outside.
However, part of that may be due to the stringent security measures around the stadium.
