GCA takes steps to curb moth menace

The Gujarat Cricket Association will be using fogging machines in order to curb the menace created by moths during the IPL matches.

Moths, which are attracted to lights, swarmed all over the ground during the match between Jaipur and Delhi in Ahmedabad on 15th March.

It was difficult for players to sight the ball clearly.

The Jaipur team captain Shane Warne and Delhi's Virender Sehwag voiced their concern over the issue.

The GCA officials are taking all steps to ensure this is not repeated in the match between Kolkata and Jaipur on Saturday scheduled at 4 pm IST.

The spring-summer season is usually a breeding period for insects.

The problem may be reduced since Saturday's game is a day match and should end by 7.30 pm. Moths normally sppear when the floodlights come on fully.
