"Security fears forced Lee's return"

Security concerns in India prompted Brett Lee's return to Australia for treatment on his injured elbow, his agent was quoted saying in a newspaper report.

Lee, who plays for the Mohali team in the IPL, is currently in Sydney to get treatment on his elbow. His elbow was operated a few months ago.

"The Age" newspaper quoted Lee's agent, Neil Maxwell, saying that the bowler would rather get his treatment done in Australia than India.

"From a security point of view he'd prefer to be spending the time waiting in Sydney rather than Chandigarh," Lee's manager Neil Maxwell was quoted saying.

But the Punjab team management insists that Lee's return had nothing to do with security.
