Injured Parnell ruled out of IPL

Delhi's Wayne Parnell has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL-3 after picking up a groin injury during warm-up.

Parnell will fly back to South Africa this week

"His (Parnell's) condition will be assessed by CSA's medical team when he returns home this week," Cricket South Africa's media officer Michael-Owen Smith said in a statement.

Delhi, who are struggling to maintain their form of the first two seasons of the Twenty20 tournament, are currently lying sixth with two wins and three losses in the eight-team league that concludes on April 25.

The side is already missing captain Gautam Gambhir due to injury, while the key medium pacer Ashish Nehra is yet to recover from the rib injury which kept him out of the ODI series against the Proteas.
