Ravindra Jadeja may, after all, be seen in action in this yea's IPL following the decision of the IPL's Governing Council to start a fresh hearing in the Jaipur's all rounder's case in Mumbai in two days' time.
The IPL Governing Council today asked Cricket Board's vice president and legal luminary Arun Jaitley to conduct the hearing in the Jadeja affair on March 25.
The fresh hearing in the case follows BCCI President Shashank Manohar's rejection of an earlier appeal from the Saurashtra player to overturn the one-year ban that was slapped on him for breaching IPL player guidelines.
The ban was imposed after Jadeja did not sign the renewal conctract with the Jaipur side and tried to negotiate a more lucrative agreement with another IPL franchise that was today revealed by the GC as Mumbai. The Council viewed Jadeja's conduct as a serious violation of the IPL player guidelines.
Present at the hearing, that has been convened following a new appeal from the concerned player as well as the two concerned franchises, would be Jadeja as well as representatives of Jaipur and Mumbai.
Based on the outcome of the hearing a decision on the case will be taken which will be final and binding on all concerned parties, according to IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi.
