IPL: Bangalore retain Chris Gayle

Royal Challengers Bangalore have retained their explosive West Indian batsmen Chris Gayle for next two seasons of Indian Premier League.

"We are delighted to make Chris Gayle a permanent member of our IPL squad. We are confident that with players like him in our side, we will take the extra step this season, and win our maiden IPL title," confirmed Sidhartha Mallya, Director, Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd.

The all-rounder was retained ahead of the transfer window deadline of 20th January by RCB for an undisclosed amount.

The amount will be made known to the IPL officials and deducted from the team’s purse for the IPL 5 auction scheduled on February 4th, RCB’s official website reported.

Gayle was signed by RCB midway through the IPL- 4 after injury ruled out Dirk Nannes.
