Yuvraj shines in warm up game
Southpaw Yuvraj Singh set Colombo ablaze on India's Independence Day to score an enthralling century in India's warm up match.
Yuvi's knock was studded with 13 six's as India flattened Sri Lanka XI by 92 runs.
The Punjab southpaw annhilated the bowling to show that he is back in form and that would obviously be a boon for an Indian team trying to salvage some pride in the ODI series after the drubbing in the Tests.
The team management rested Virender Sehwag but brought in Virat Kholi to give him a run while Gautam Gambhir stepped up the gas to keep the innings afloat at the early stage.
Yuvraj's fiery innings of 172 off 121 balls against the Sri Lanka XI allowed the Indians to propel to 342-5 in 50 overs at 6.9 runs an over.
Yuvraj, who was dropped thrice during his swashbuckling innings, blasted a near full Sri Lanka Test bowling and ODI line up to shreds.
India bowled well too to dismiss the opposition for 250. Munaf Patel (1-38) and Harbhajan Singh (1-36) were the pick of the bowlers for the visitors.
