- India's all-time lowest in Sri Lanka is 127 against New Zealand at Colombo, RPS on July 20, 2001.

- India's 146 is their lowest innings total at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. Their previous lowest total in 50 overs at this venue was 205 for 9 against Sri Lanka on July 30, 2005.

- Sanath Jayasuriya, by playing in the Dambulla ODI, has equalled Sachin Tendulkar's record of most ODI appearances (417).

- Jayasuriya (10) is now without a fifty in his last eleven innings in Sri Lanka. He had last recorded a fifty in Sri Lanka more than three years ago - 67 at Colombo, RPS on August 9, 2005.

- Gautam Gambhir's fourth duck in ODIs is his first against Sri Lanka.

- Gambhir, despite his duck today, has averaged 53.41 in 2008 - 908 runs in 20 games, including three centuries and five fifties. He is the leading run-getter in ODIs this year.

- Virat Kohli, India's Under-19 captain, has made his ODI debut for India.

- Ojha (16 not out) registered his best ever score in ODIs, eclipsing his 6 not out against Sri Lanka at Karachi on July 6, 2008.

- Munaf Patel (15) equalled his highest score in ODIs. He had made 15 against Bangladesh at Port of Spain on March 17, 2007.

- Ojha and Patel put on 29 runs - India's best partnership for the tenth wicket against Sri Lanka, surpassing the 24 between Munaf Patel and Harbhajan Singh at Port of Spain on March 23,2007.

- The aforesaid partnership is the highest tenth wicket stand by any pair against Sri Lanka at Dambulla.

- Jayawardene's 47nd fifty (61 not out) is his 11th against India.

- Ajantha Mendis' third Man of the Match award is his second against India.
