India won the second ODI in Dambulla by three wickets to draw level with Sri Lanka at 1-1. MS Dhoni starred with the bat for India.

India made heavy weather of chasing a paltry 143 runs to win the second ODI at Dambulla to draw level with Sri Lanka. Though the bowlers did a briiliant job to restrict the Lankans to 142, the batsmen almost made a mess of it had it not been for enterprising knocks by Kohli (37), Dhoni (39) and Badrinath (27).

The five match series now stands level at 1-1, with three more matches to go.

40th Over: Murali to Badri. He takes a single to bring India within two runs of a win. Another one. The scores are levelled. That's it. India have won by three wickets.

39th Over: Kulasekara to Zaheer. India need three runs to win. It's a amiden. India are 140 for seven.

38th Over: Mendis is on for his last over, with India needing four runs to win. WICKET! Mendis has rapped Harbhajan on the pads and the umpire raises his finger to the LBW appeal. Zaheer is the new man in, with fielders all round the bat. Zaheer gets on away to pick up a single. India are 140 for seven.

37th Over: Kulasekara runs into Badri with eight required to win. A single gets Bhajji on strike. Bhajji gets off the mark. Six required to win. Badri drives square of the wicket. Picks up two. India are 139 for six.

36th Over: Fernando back into the attack. A no ball and that's a FREE HIT! Dhoni swings and misses. FOUR! Dhoni cuts it square of the wicket. That was furious blow. WICKET! Dhoni plays it on to his stumps. Harbhajan joins Badri in the middle, with eight required to win. India are 135 for six.

35th Over: Kulasekara back into the attack. FOUR! Badri dispatches the short ball to the mid wicket fence in style. A loud appeal for LBW but the impact was outside the off stump. India are 130 for five.

28th Over: Fernando on his way to Dhoni. He flicks it away for a single. India are 107 for five.

27th Over: Dhoni works Murali away for a single. Badri on strike. India can just do in singles now. India are 106 for five.

25th Over: Murali continues. Badri plays it nicely on the on side to pick up two. Good running. Follows it up with a single to get Dhoni on strike. FOUR! Dhoni cuts furiously through the off side and that brings up the 100 for India. India are 101 for five.

24th Over: Mendis back into the attack. Badrinath knocks it around for a single. End of the over. India are 93 for five.

20th Over: Mendis makes way for Thushara. WICKET! The change works as Kohli plays it straight to Kapugedera at short extra cover. Rohit Sharma is the new man in. WICKET! Thushara has caught Sharma in front of the wickets. TV replays showed the ball might have hit him above the knee roll. But he has to walk. India are 75 for five.

18th Over: Spin from both end now as Murali comes into the attack. Kohli on strike. FOUR! Kohli tries to drive but gets an edge, which runs away to the fence. India are 72 for three.

15th Over: FOUR! Kohli cracks Mendis through the off side with disdain.Good blow. WICKET! Mendis has caught Yuvraj plumb in front of the stumps. MS Dhoni is the new man in. He gets off the mark straightaway with a double. India are 54 for three.

14th Over: Dilhara Fernando has been brought into the attack. FOUR! Yuvraj flicks it to fine leg off his hips. Not the best start for Fernando. Follows it up with a single. India are 47 for two.

13th Over: Mendis back into the act. Kohli on strike. A slip and a silly point in place. It's a maiden. India are 41 for two.

12th Over: FOUR! Yuvraj cracks it straight pastThushara. What a shot! India are 41 for two.

11th Over: Sri Lanka have opted for the second powerplay. FOUR! Kohli stands and punches it through the off side. The India u-19 captain is beginning to get into the groove. FOUR! Kohli slams another one to the fence, square of the wicket on the off side. India are 37 for two.

10th Over: FOUR! Yuvraj merely pushes it past cover and the ball races away to the fence. Here comes Thushara again. Good delivery. A loud appeal for a catch behind the stumps. Not out, says the umpire. FOUR! Yuvraj rolls down his wrists and pulls it away wide of mid on. India are 29 for two.

9th Over: Kohli on strike to Kulasekara and ducks nicely under the slow bouncer. A swing and a miss. Kohli doesn't have to do that now. Another poor shot from Kohli. Luckily the ball dropped just short of Jayawardene at first slip. The second maiden on the trot. India are 21 for two.

8th Over: Thushara back into the attack with Yuvraj on strike. He is working up a good line. It's a maiden! India are 21 for two.

7th Over: Kulasekara continues. Yuvraj miscues a pull shot but the ball lands safely in a vacant space. He survives. a single gets Kohli on strike. He flicks it off the pads to pick up two. India are 21 for two.

6th Over: All ready for action after the lunch interval as Yuvraj and Kohli walk into the middle to resume India's pursuit of 143. Mendis into the attack for the first over after lunch. Yuvraj on strike. He defends the first three solidly. A single on the on side. India are 18 for two.

5th Over: Kohli works Kulasekara for a single. WICKET! Raina has been rapped on the pads and the umpire rasies his finger to the appeal. Raina walks back to the pavillion. Yuvraj Singh comes into the middle. And he is off the mark. That's the end of the over and it's lunch. India are 17 for two.

4th Over: FOUR! Kohli slashes hard and the edge powers over the slip cordon to the fence. A single gets Raina on strike. Raina pushes it for a single to get off the mark. India are 15 for one.

3rd Over: Kulasekara raps Pathan on the pads. A huge appeal for LBW is turned down by the umpire. FOUR! Pathan bangs it over long on. WICKET! Kulasekera holds on to his nerves and induces Pathan to an edge, which is held on to by Sangakkara behind the stumps. Suresh Raina joins Kohli. India are eight for one.

2nd Over: Thushara on his way to Kohli. A wide outside the off stump. Thushara is getting a good shape away from the right handed Kohli. Another wide outside off stump, though this was closer to the stumps than the earlier one. India are four without loss.

India, 1st OVER: Kulasekara on his way to Irfan Pathan, who is opening the innings with Virat Kohli. Pathan flicks it away for a single to get himself off the mark. India are away. Kohli pushes it sqaure of the wicket to get off the mark. India are two without loss.

Sri Lanka have been rolled over for a paltry 142, thanks to some brilliant seam bowling by Zaheer Khan and Praveen Kumar, who bagged four and three wickets respectively. Harbhajan Singh chipped in with two wickets too. Thilan Thushara and Nuwan Kulasekara brought some respectability into the total with a desperate partnership lower down the order.

39th Over: Bhajji continues. WICKET! Harbhajan gets his second as Fernando holds out in the deep to Kohli. Sri Lanka are all out for 142.

35th Over: WICKET! Mendis plays it straight to Harbhajan. A first ball duck. Muttiah Muralitahran comes into the middle. Bhajji goes off the field. Not yet clear why. Zaheer will fill in the over. Murali gets off strike and off the mark. Fernando on strike. A single to end the over. Sri Lanka are 127 for nine.

34th Over: WICKET! Praveen has finally broken the partnershi, getting Thusara to hold out to Virat Kohli in the deep. Ajantha Mendis is the new man in. WICKET! Kulasekara mistimes the drive and the edge carries to Badrinath at short mid wicket. Dilhara Fernando is the new man in. FOUR! An edge off Ferando's bat flies through the vacant slip area and into the fence. Sri Lanka are 122 for eight.

32nd Over: Praveen Kumar back into the attack. FOUR! Thushara heaves that and the ball pops into the fence on the bounce. A single gets Kulasekara on strike. The two batsmen have batted brilliantly despite some hostile bowling from the Indians. Sri Lanka are 112 for six.

28th Over: Yuvraj Singh brought into the attack. A wide outside the off stump. That one kept low. Thushara cuts it for a couple, square of the wicket. Good first over by Yuvi. Sri Lanka are 87 for six.

26th Over: Zaheer back into the attack. Dhoni is going for the kill now. FOUR! harbhajan ran after the ball, stopped it near the fence and threw it back with one foot inside the ropes. Whatever was he thinking! Sri Lanka are 76 for six.

25th Over: Harbhajan into the attack for the first time today. Time for some spin. Kulasekara on strike. A wide down leg side. DROPPED! Rohit Sharma drops a regulation chance at first slip as Kulasekara misread the 'doosra' from Bhajji. Sri Lanka are 71 for six.

23rd Over: Sri Lanka would hope against hope to at least get past 100 as Munaf runs into Thushara. FOUR! Thushara steams that away to the fence. Sri Lanka are 62 for six.

21st Over: Thushara on strike to Munaf. Good movement again. FOUR! An inside edge runs away to the fence. Sri Lanka won't mind that stroke of luck. The fifty comes up for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka are 54 for six.

20th Over: Irfan continues. Thushara on strike. Good shape away from the left handed batsman. A wide. Thushara pushes it to point for a single. A wide again. Sri Lanka are 48 for six.

18th Over: Irfan Pathan into the attack. WICKET! Dilshan flicks it off the pads and S. Badrinath takes a sensational catch at mid wicket to send Dilshan back. Thilan Thushara is the new man in. Brilliant over. Sri Lanka are 45 for six.

17th Over: Munaf to Kulasekara.FOUR! Kulasekara strikes it straight past Dilshan at the bowler's end. Rapped on the pads. A huge appeal forLBW. The umpire says not out. Is that an inside edge because TV replays showed it was almost plumb. Hang on! The umpires are now consulting the third umpire. TV replays clearly showed there was no inside edge. Sri Lanka are 42 for five.

14th Over: WICKET! Zaheer Khan is on a roll, he's picked up the big wicket of Jayasuriya. He's trapped lbw though it seemed to strike him a bit higher. But the decision has been made and he walks back to the pavilion. Sri Lanka have lost half their side. Nuwan Kulasekara joins Dilshan. Sri Lanka are 33 for five.

11th Over: Kumar continues, while Dilshan tries to fight back. His tried to play a coupleof audacious shots and missed them completely. FOUR! Finallyhe breaks free. Pulled to the boundary that one. FOUR! And another one. Those two boundaries will give the Lankas a move on. Sri Lanka are 23 for four.

7th Over: Chamara Silva is the new batsman, Praveen continues from the scoreboard end. The key to the Sri Lankan innings is held by Jayasuriya now. He will have to draw on all his experience to dig Sri Lanka out of this hole. WICKET! Chamara Silva prods outside the off stump and Virat Kohli takes the easiest of catches at point. Sri Lanka are 11 for four.

6th Over: Zaheer to Jayawardene and he picks up a couple. That's his first runs and it's taken him nine balls. WICKET! Jayawardene nicks and Yuvraj takes an easy catch at first slip on second chance. That's a big blow and the Indians are euphoric. Chamara Kapugedera is the new man in. WICKET! And he's gone, nicked and MSD completes the catch. This is a dream over. Sri Lanka are 10 for three.

2nd Over: Zaheer Khan to come on from the other end. WICKET! And he's cleaned Sangakkara up. The off stump has been pegged back. Great bowling! Good start by India. Out walks Mahela Jayawardene. Sri Lanka are four for one.

SRI LANKA, 1ST OVER: Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara stride out in to the middle, Praveen Kumar has the cherry in his hand. Jayasuriya gets in to the act immediately, starts off with a single off the first ball. Sanga takes a single off the last delivery. Sri Lanka are two without loss.

MS Dhoni has again called the coin correctly and this time the decision to bowl is more of a compulsion. Couple of changes in the Indian side. Praveen Kumar comes in place of Pragyan Ojha and S Badrinath gets his debut cap in place Gautam Gambhir, who has been ruled out with a stiff neck.

MSD says Irfan Pathan will open the batting with Virat Kohli.

Sri Lanka have also made one change to their lineup. Chaminda Vaas is out with a stiff hamstring and has been replaced by Dilhara Fernando.
